Here we’re going to be sharing with you our favourite kind of adventure – wild camping routes. Each route below contains a brief description of each day as well as GPS coordinates (in gpx format) that you can download to your device and thus follow our track.
We usually drive from London very early in the morning, arrive to one of the national parks by 10am and start the hike straight away. So far we’ve only done routes that took us 3 days of walking which is usually around 35 kilometres. When it comes to the camping spots I think you’ll be satisfied with my choices as I always try to find places with stunning views and no other backpackers around.
In terms of the equipment, we use the Coleman Phad X2 tent that has proved to be very good in any kind of weather – 55mph winds, heavy rain, storms… It has never let us down. However, apart from all other necessities such as a sleeping bag, clothes etc., I’d say the most important thing to take are the water purification tablets that can often save your ass. Especially because you just can’t take enough of drinking water for the whole route.
